Jesus was hungry because He was human.

The miracle shows God's power and justice. It is the only miracle
that shows his wrath and curse.

The barren fig tree represents hypocrites who practice religion for the
sake of appearance; they bear no fruits.

The fig tree represents the Jews; they practice the letter of the law of
Moses, but they have no fruits. They rejected Christ.

It was necessary to kill the barren tree to give a chance for the new fruitful
trees to grow, to give a chance for the word of God to grow.

Don't forget the power of faith; nothing is impossible with God.
-
The way by which we can exercise our faith is through prayer.
