Jesus' Triumphant Entry into Jerusalem

Lesson Goals:

Jesus entered Jerusalem as a victorious King. He didn't come to destroy
it but to save it.

Christ, the Lamb of God, comes to Jerusalem to sacrifice Himself for the
sake and salvation of the whole world.

An introduction about the events of Holy Week and its relation to salvation.
Lesson Notes:

The donkey and the colt represent the whole world, Jews and Gentiles, the
Gentile being recently born.

God sent two disciples; again, one for the Jews, the other for the Gentiles.

God gave the two disciples the authority to loosen the donkey and colt,
referring to their authority on our sins.

"The Lord has need of them;" the Lord needs the whole world.

God entered Jerusalem riding on a donkey to show us His humility.
-
The palm tree branches refer to God's victory. The olive tree branches
refer to the peace He brings.

"Hosanna" means save us.
-
Why did the destruction happen to Jerusalem?
Jerusalem did not know the time of her visitation, when the Savior
was there to offer salvation.
