Jesus Visits Martha And Mary
Reference:
Luke 10:38-42
Golden Verse:
"But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good
part, which will not be taken away from her." Luke 10:42
Lesson Goals:
-
God teaches us and we need to listen to His teachings.
-
Mary's good choice to be with Jesus
-
Martha's work is not bad, but it should not be everything.
Lesson Notes:
-
Martha gives a good example of the person attending to the domestic needs
of the saints, poor, etc. But Mary's main concern is the word
of God.
-
Martha cared about feeding Jesus, but Mary cared more about letting Jesus
feed her.
-
Martha represents our worldly life, while Mary represents our heavenly
life in the presence of God.
-
Martha's work relates to our human needs, while Mary's work relates to
our spiritual needs.
-
What Martha did was good, but what Mary did was better. God did not
blame Martha for what she was doing but preferred Mary's choice.
