Christ's
Entry into Egypt
Reference: Matthew
2:13-23
Golden Verse:
"Blessed [is] Egypt My people" Isaiah 19:25
"Out of Egypt I called My Son." Hosea 11:1
Lesson Notes:
-
Read the Gospel so that all who hear know that the Lord does not fear Herod.
-
The Lord went into Egypt for a blessing. Read the passages in Isaiah
19: "... Altar in the midst ..." (Cairo) and "... Pillar
at the border ..." (Alexandria) as geographic references. Give
a sense of pride to the kids.
-
Herod's anger and plot avails him nothing. Evil may never overcome
the Lord.
-
The deaths of Rachel's children, the innocents, are a gift to the Lord.
The Lord, Who will die for them, redeems them and takes them to live forever
with Him in His Father's Kingdom. "Precious in the sight of the Lord
is the death of His Saints." Psalm 116:15
-
The Angel of the Lord in verses 13 and 19, and by implication in verse
22, is proof that God the Pantocrator is ruling over all and that nothing
is worthy of fear. "... All things work together for good to
them the love God ..." Romans 8:28
